If you have a stubborn dog that loves to chew their feet then this probably won't work. The little Velcro straps help keep the socks in place, but my dog somehow managed to get them off. So it depends on your dog, other than that I think they are doing their job. My medium sized dog is about 25 pounds and I bought a small one. I also bought a medium one, but they were huge and didn't have velcro. I think you definitely need velcro to hold them on.
