This brush is much easier to use, especially if your hair gets tangled while bathing. I usually have to detangle my daughter's hair and she has very thick hair, but with this brush I don't have that problem. Not to mention that this brush is much easier to hold than a traditional brush handle. Even though she swims and plays in the pool all the time, her hair usually looks like a rat's nest, but with this comb, it just keeps sliding. She has a sensitive scalp but with this brush she doesn't cry or complain when using it. I even tried it on my hair which is not as thick as hers and same. It just seems to glide straight and gently detangle my hair. I don't have a sensitive scalp, but I hardly ever feel any pulling, twitching or like I'm pulling my hair out with this brush. Whether our hair is tangled or not, this brush detangles gently and thoroughly. For me the comb and clips were a bonus and a very good bonus.
