I plan to build a new PC in the first quarter of next year (2010). I've been buying the monitor since November. God this hurts so much. Yes, this HP W2338h and its brother 2509m are the best on the LCD market. I've spent hours at Staples to see what it's like on the eyes - amazing. And let me tell you guys, if you're looking for some really cool and rich picture quality, forget it - FORGET about the crappy Mate screens - even if it's 10,000,000:1 CR - it means nothing - the colors are in Dead compared to any glossy screen. GLOSS is what makes an image amazing and if any of you are worried about reflections and such, let's go. Get vertical blinds for god's sake. Of course, I'm not going to buy all the components for my new PC at once. Like any other "hi-tech freak" I'm waiting for "Gulftown" or "Thuban" to hit the shelves and then we'll see. What keeps me from buying this monitor or 2509m. It's not LED yet. I'm not interested in LCD or LED just because LED is newer - no, but I'm interested in the following: 1) LED will definitely look better because it's thinner. 2) it would be energy efficient and less dangerous. and the last thing I don't really care about is that it's obviously going to have insane contrast and a 2ms response time. Monitor, by the way, and 2509m does not meet the requirements of Energy Star), then do it. Because it looks like the best on the market today at an affordable price. Thank you for reading my review.
