Join the choir. This stuff works really really well. I had a severe case of blue-green slime algae. Like many of us, I suppose I thought it was algae. For those who are unsure if they have this algae (it's not actually algae), here's how to tell if you have blue-green slime algae (cyanobacteria) or another type of algae: 1. It grows very quickly after after you have cleaned the aquarium.2. It forms a slimy layer over tree stumps or plants that is fairly easy to remove (unlike hair algae).3. But: The easiest way is to say: The water in your aquarium smells really bad, like water from an old pond. It's easy to say. Test: Dip hand in aquarium water, then wash hands with soap and water. Then smell your hands. If you can still smell (at least faintly) the smell of water from the aquarium on your hands: Yes, these are cyanobacteria. Now the good news. This stuff works. However, be careful and treat your tank exactly as directed. First, calculate the liters of water correctly. If you have a 50 gallon aquarium but lots of driftwood, rocks, gravel and plants, you may only have 40 gallons of water. So dose this substance correctly. Day 1: Thoroughly clean the tank and do a large water change. Then dose the amount of powder exactly and dissolve in a little aquarium water. Then pump in slowly. Day two: do nothing. Day three: Exactly 48 hours after the first dose, take another dose of the same amount. Then wait a WHOLE week. No water changes, nothing. just wait It really worked in my tank on days 6 and 7. The odor disappeared 100%, the mucilage completely disappeared. Now, at this point, I was hesitant to repeat the cycle after a big water change to make sure the bacteria was gone. But my aquarium is so clear and clean that I gave up. If the bacteria come back, which they could (other reviewers have mentioned this material is 3 billion years old), I know this product will save me again. I almost never rate a product. But before I buy anything from Revain I always read reviews and am grateful for the people who take the time to write a good and honest review. So today I decided to write this because I am 100% satisfied. Also today, 9 days ago, I started the treatment, but the results are amazing. It can return like other types of algae or diseases like Ik or any other misfortune. I hope this long story helps other amateurs who are desperate and about to give up. Be careful. Hello from Texas.
