Clamps are easily destroyed and break

Clamps were used to attach an LED light on a string to the row of letters that make up the word 'WORLD'. Each letter is 4 feet tall. About 50-70 clips attach the lights to each letter. Two problems: First, the clips are brittle and break easily when the garland is deployed. I use 1/2" rope lights and when you insert the rope into the clamps the pins of the clamp release like they should but many of them break as a result. My experience has been a 20% - 30% gap. Second, they deteriorated the clips and broke after being exposed to external factors for less than a year.Over 70% are cracked or broken. No force or bending is required to break the clip, it simply degrades and tears or breaks. The photos below are from installation less than a year ago.The broken clips pictured occur without any tampering or movement. Also to replace the clips in my application I have to remove the adjacent light sections of rope and in the process breaks when you pull the rope out pulling the clip, this clip due to its brittleness and degradation 100% of the ascenders broke when the rope was removed from the ascender now I'm replacing e about 400 clips in less than a year. Previous clips lasted 13 years.
