The filter itself is a good replacement for a 2013 Altima S. But installing a filter is a problem. I agree with many buyers that Nissan did a terrible job designing something very uncomfortable for the end user. You don't have to remove the glove box to access the filter. Removing the old filter is relatively easy, just grab and pull. However, installing a new filter is very difficult. I struggled for probably an hour and a half to get the damn thing in. I ended up removing the glove box to get better access to the filter housing. But next time I'll try to install it anyway without removing the glove box to see if it works. Here are some tips I'd like to share. 1. Removing the glove box. The glove box is fixed with 8 screws: 3 outside and 5 inside as shown in many youtube videos and online articles. After the 8 screws are removed, gently pull the glove box to move it to the left to remove the side panel. Then the glove box falls. I didn't bother to disconnect the cables as there doesn't seem to be a clean way to do it. Instead, I set the glove box aside, being careful not to pull on the cables. I pushed the seat forward and blocked it with a paper towel roll to keep it from tipping over. This still gives me some room to access the filter housing.2. Install a new filter. To install the filter, pinch it in the middle and push on the front to get inside. You may need to press/press on the front edge to slide the filter through the hole. You also need to press/squeeze the trailing edge to get the trailing edge. The inside of the case is larger than the opening, so it should be designed. For people who are used to taking care of their filters, this comes as a shock! In general, a reprimand to Nissan for this terrible design!
