Review on JJC HRP H6 Handy Recorder Protective by Wilbert Luoma

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works but not the easiest to use.

I just voiced a short film. I was told beforehand that I could (probably would) do some scenes in the rain. So I chose this case as I assumed the H6 would be under my jacket most of the time and I just wanted it to protect against accidental splashes when turning the mics on and off or the volume regulate Pros: Keep the H6 dry in limited light rain conditions (would not advise in heavy or constant rain). I could see all the lights and displays clearly through the plastic. I was never afraid my H6 would fall out. Easy to attach. Cons: Not easy to take off - pretty darn hard to remove Not easy to turn the mics on and off through the plastic, and inconvenient to open the plastic in the rain while holding the boom. Have to undo the neck straps to put it on and take it off Velcro adjustment LOUD Would I use this again in the same conditions? Absolutely (unless I get something better beforehand. But I don't have any money right now, so yeah). Will I use this during normal recording? No never. I'd rather have free access to the controls than the slight extra protection it offers in normal situations.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Better than the original cover I purchased. It allows easier access to all ports and controls.
