Exactly as described, plug and play on my surface pro 4 which only has a USB port so this is a really necessary one Accessory if you are going to use a similar device to connect multiple USB devices. I've used it to connect a mouse, Ethernet to USB adapter, and external hard drive. All are connected through this hub! I noticed that it only takes a quick press of the appropriate button to turn on the power for each port, but to turn them off you have to hold the button down for a few seconds, which the manual mentions. . This is a plus so you don't accidentally disable the port when adding or removing another device. Great value for money with the only downside being the AC connector isn't "thin" enough to allow an outlet to be used near a power strip. I have short extensions to get around this problem, but I wish all manufacturers would jump on the flimsy PSU bandwagon where the PSU is directly connected to the AC power supply.
