This strainer saved my new faucet's washer from going down the drain; when installing a faucet. It does what it was designed for, well. I abolished the garbage disposal when it finally broke down. With these filters I don't need them. I'm out of backups; nor the stench of what is left in the mill after years of use. I highly recommend this strainer compared to what has been sold in the past. If you don't empty it, the water won't drain easily. This prompts me to make sure I empty it. It fits in my sink, partly because I'm installing new sinks; I made sure it was set low enough to be placed on top; but there is a rim that prevents it from slipping off. Depending on the opening of the sink, there may be slipping. But when it's limited by the sinkhole, it can only slide, and that's a small amount. Clean it up a little messy. I don't expect to just click a button.
