We bought three Hauck pedal karts (Hurricane, Batman and Lego Striker) for our three children and had mixed feelings. Overall we really like the machines and they appear to be very robust and well built. One problem with all three is related to the design: the rear axle is blocked only by the right wheel. These units are essentially single-propelled vehicles, making them very difficult to maneuver on uneven surfaces, no matter how light, including concrete and tarmac. I can only assume that this decision was made to save pennies on materials and welding. That's unfortunate because I'm sure most of the driving problems would not have arisen in the first place if a second piece of metal had been welded to the left rear axle to steer that wheel as well.
