Teton backpack for backpacks, bags and accessories

I really wanted to like this bag but ended up buying Eberlestock and it got a lot better. Of course you get what you pay for, Eberlestock is about $300, this one is $65. I'll try to point out exactly what I liked and didn't, hope it helps. Pros: I like the choice of colors. I like the nylon ripstop material. I really liked the rain cover that came with it. I like that it's light. I love that it's compatible with a hydration bladder. I like that it's well built. I love all compression straps. I love the compression straps on my sleeping bag. I love that the bottom sleeping bag compartment can be opened to reveal the main compartment. I like the shoulder strap and the back adjustment. Cons: I hate the open main compartment. There is no way to organize anything, it's like stuffing everything in a duffel bag. You have to unpack everything to get to certain items, that's how the bag works. I hate the open design on a bag this deep. You really need to reach to get to the things below. NO MOLLES! For me that's a big no, I couldn't find a place to mount the knife outside. There is also no molle inside to attach anything. The bungee straps are too loose to really attach anything to the outside of the pack and they don't stay tight. I don't like that the rain cover is attached (sewn) to the backpack. High-end backpacks have detachable widths for easy replacement. I also hate the color of rain, bright yellow. Side water bottle pockets are very small. Overall I think this is a really good "first" holdall. It's affordable, big and definitely offers enough gear for 48 hours, maybe a little more. If you really want to attach other molle packs, this isn't for you. There is nothing "tactical" about this bag, setting up the knives is tedious. Worth the money in my opinion, just not the best.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Quality
