I don't know why this pack has good reviews.

Just awful. I'm 5 feet 10 inches tall (for reference). This backpack fits my shoulders. I've set it up a thousand different ways and I can't get the weight off. On a grueling 12-mile hike, I almost hated it. The high shoulder setting is the ultimate for me and doesn't take the weight off my shoulders anymore.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Newbie Perfect Pack

Although I'm a newbie and have only done one overnight trip with it so far I think I can easily last up to a week with this pack. It comes down to knowing how to pack. If you are just starting out, you can purchase this pack. I bought it because of the price, but the many good reviews played a role in my choice. Not knowing if hiking would be good for me in the long run, I didn't want to spend hundreds on a pack that you only use once. This makes this pack ideal for those who are just starting…

Super functional and good looking

No wonder this pack has received thousands of 5 star reviews. PROS: It's well built, has a large capacity, and looks good. All pockets, straps and cushioning cords make it easy and compact to stash lots of gear so you don't have to dig through the main compartment to find everything. Adjustable torso straps help carry weight effectively and in a balanced manner. I carry about 30 pounds of gear in it and the weight distribution works really well. Everything I've added in the picture fits in or…

Teton backpack for backpacks, bags and accessories

I really wanted to like this bag but ended up buying Eberlestock and it got a lot better. Of course you get what you pay for, Eberlestock is about $300, this one is $65. I'll try to point out exactly what I liked and didn't, hope it helps. Pros: I like the choice of colors. I like the nylon ripstop material. I really liked the rain cover that came with it. I like that it's light. I love that it's compatible with a hydration bladder. I like that it's well built. I love all compression straps. I…

This pack is amazing. It's low price, high quality and perfect size.

So far I've taken this item on a week long trip to India where it was strapped to the back of my motorcycle as I rode through the Himalayas (I'm not kidding). It held up great and the rain cover was very helpful and easy to put on when the rain was pouring down on us. The backpack endured a lot of pressure being stuffed to the brim and sealed tight every day and came out without a single scratch (which surprised me). Between three deer, I grabbed over 200 pounds of venison in the mountains of…

Must scout for skinny

Hello everyone and thanks for reading my review. I want everyone to know that I have a bunch of backpacks in my shed and the only reason I bought this one is because of my skinny son and all the other parent scout reviews. First of all, I don't need it. But I did, and here's why. My son was transitioning from Junior Scouts to Boy Scouts and needed a backpack. None of the packages fit around his waist. Back then 23". I've been planning for a long time and bought all these super cool ones. No…

Great Value Travel Packs

Durable entry-level backpack

I bought this backpack 8 years ago as I was preparing for my first 14 year hike in CO. My veteran backpacker buddy said I shouldn't climb 14th in CO with an airport backpack. with wheels. So I found this inexpensive backpack that fits gear for 2 nights and supports the weight on my hips. Since I had my first 14 8 years ago I have used it for 5 more 14s, 1-2 nights in the mountains per trip. , up and down Mount Kilimanjaro and about 20 hikes/climbs in Colorado and RRG. only 1-2 nights at a time…

Great set for the price but missing a few really important features.

I confess: It was a small spontaneous purchase. I needed (well, wanted) a backpack that would do short to medium trips with an all-around size, but I wasn't willing to shell out $275 or more. Log into Teton Scout. Although it was an impulse buy, I did my due diligence by checking expert and user reviews on multiple websites and found that in almost all cases the conclusion was that it's not the best backpack, but it is the best package for the price. And so, without even trying, I clicked on it
