This is a really bad implementation of this tool. The bottom was dented so unusable unless I sand it down again. "Exact" setting - complete nonsense! The faster they used to make this sli is bent and doesn't work at all for a reasonable setting. There doesn't seem to be enough weight in the base to handle the long arm, so it tips over. "Friction" pins are really very "RUBTING". It takes a lot of encouragement to move them. Overall very disappointed with this purchase. Do yourself a favor and buy a used one on ebay. probably a lot better than that.
