This camera is definitely worth the money. But if you are interested in photography, don't even waste your time with this product. First off, if you're such a purist, you shouldn't even be looking in this price range. Step up to the Rebel 70D and don't try to impress the crowd by saying your above-average expectations aren't met by a camera that costs less than a Rebel 70D lens. In this case, you can get satisfactory images when you are a tourist, attend a party, or relax with your family. It's not the kind of camera that takes pictures of a stationary hummingbird, nor will it give you nice widescreen, poster-quality shots. First of all, it adds lots of fake colored pixels that become visible when you zoom in on your computer. Image quality isn't the best either, as images can look quite grainy if you scale them to size on screen. Then what do you get? Well you get nice 5x7 landscape photos and you can even get a decent little 11x17 poster. Also, don't consider this camera as an option. If you're going to a hockey game, you might as well stay away from this camera. Especially in automatic mode, the camera takes up to three full seconds to focus and take a picture. Even in TV mode, where you're supposed to be controlling the shutter speed, it's very slow to respond. It's certainly not the best camera for a sporting event. Also, don't forget to get a memory card as there is no one in the camera. The camera will perform very well in low light and has a very decent zoom for such a small camera. Speaking of small, this camera won't fit in your pocket. But it's small enough that I don't mind carrying it in my hand. Overall, I give the camera 4 stars, mainly because images appear slightly washed out in the native 4608x3456 pixel image mode. This is because the actual resolution of this camera is quite low at 180dpi. For the money you spend, you can save beautiful, natural, and vibrant landscape photos. And that's fine with me if you're just a tourist and don't want to get hit in the head with a Leica or regret your kids leaving your EOS 5D Mark III in a toilet stall.
