Review on IC3D Grey 3Mm Printer Filament by Kris Feezy

Great media for great prints

Over the past few years I've printed on a variety of media and printers. I bought this filament to use with my Ultimaker 2. I find this filament to be the best filament I've tried so far for both small (1/2 inch or less) and large (8 inch or more) prints. Prints with low layer height (0.06mm) with exceptional detail and a superb finish. Even coarse prints with high layer heights (0.25 mm) and high speeds (150 mm/s) are excellent with good interlayer adhesion. When printing from ABS to Ultimaker, I used Ultimaker first. Thread (2.85 mm) and periodically there were various problems. PLA worked well, but the material properties of ABS were better suited to the mechanical parts I was designing. I decided to try the IC3D filament during my last refueling and haven't had a single problem since. Each part prints well at 210 to 230 degrees, with or without a fan. Gluing to the Ultimaker heated glass platform is excellent using only the Staples glue stick. Although I was a little nervous about using 3mm filament in a printer that reads 2.85mm, it works great. I would recommend this filament to anyone who needs to print from ABS.
