Review on 10 Pairs of Finware XT60 XT-60 Male Female Bullet Connectors Power Plugs with Heat Shrink for RC Lipo Battery by Jason Childs

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good price, lots of power.

Overall excellent quality. While these things are primarily used for RC projects, I use them for general use when I need low voltage connections that will give decent performance. I'm rating them 4 stars instead of 5 because instead of individual small shrink pieces, there were several large pieces in the pack. That's usually fine with me, except once they're cut into individual pieces, there's no way they can be as long as the individual pieces, so overall it reduces the number of tubes provided. For the price it doesn't really matter. The trick is that you need a pretty powerful soldering iron to solder them without melting the cases. You want a large iron that can heat up the joint quickly so you can quickly apply solder and then dissipate the heat. With smaller irons, by the time the joint is hot enough for proper soldering, the heat has traveled far enough to start melting the cases. I don't use my regular irons for this, I use a Weller butane iron. Anyone who works regularly with such plugs should invest in an iron with at least 60 watts.

Pros
  • Amplifier installation
Cons
  • Definitely bad product
