I had to scan 1500 of my father's slides because they were starting to get moldy and it makes sense to store them digitally. It's a little tricky to figure out how to use this scanner, but once you've memorized all the symbols, things will go pretty quickly. My first ION stopped working so I sent it back and they sent me a refurbished one. Well, this one didn't work at all, so I sent it back as well. Eventually they sent me another one and it worked fine for a while. Before I finished this project, the scanner fell off my desk and broke. So this time I bought another one because they are pretty cheap and I wanted a brand new one. I've had it ever since and it works great. The only problem with this scanner is that the image you get is not as sharp and colorful as you see when using a slide viewer. I had to adjust the exposure and color of each slide and that would have made it better, but still not close to the original.
