The pads are strong, washable and firmly attached. The handle is light and hard. But what drives me nuts is that the pan function allows for too much twisting and turning. This feature is nice because it allows you to get under furniture and so on. But the head of this mop rotates slightly half the time I'm using it mopping the floor, requiring me to bend down and keep turning it in the right direction. To edit. After a few months of use, I'll lower the rating even further. The mop head rotates about 10 seconds after use, and so it constantly rotates to where I either crouch or kneel most of the time, returning the mop to the correct position. This is a real design flaw and I do not recommend it.
