Very easy to install. They don't slide at all going up and down the stairs. My metal ladders got very slippery in the rain so I bought three of these. They make mine Stairs not only safer but also help trap dirt before it gets in! I've seen some bad reviews complaining about being too small, I suspect these buyers weren't able to measure their steps before purchasing , because they are true to size as stated in the listing. As you can see mine do not reach the end of my steps. I just centered them and they work perfectly. I am satisfied with this purchase and the price I paid, satisfied.
