I needed a KVM switch for my desk to be able to switch between my work laptop and my personal setup. Well, the V or video part of my needs turned out to be too expensive and feature limited, so I looked at the K&M or keyboard and mouse parts of my needs. What I found was this device and several others like it. This is the USB 2.0 version and it works great. I connect the included cables to their respective systems (work laptop and personal setup) and then connect the devices I want to share between the two boxes to the other side of the device. The top button is nice and handy, and the LED lets me know which device is receiving signals. Almost everything I connected to it worked for the exchange, with one exception. Remember that not everything can work with this device. I have a USB headset with controls on the junction box for volume, speaker output, and mic mute. This headset, a VTIN brand device, does not work with this KM switch. It's not a deal breaker as I don't need this headset at all for my personal setup, it's just for my work laptop as I'm 100% remote and needed a decent headset for Webex meetings and the like. The workaround was to connect the VTIN directly to the laptop and I agree with that. I haven't tried the webcam but I don't do Hangouts/Skype so I don't care. Your headset or webcam may require more bandwidth. If you need to share such devices between two systems, you can look at the USB 3.0 version. That's about $10-$11 more, but more bandwidth may be required to take advantage of the full range of device sharing features. I still give it 5 stars as it works great for keyboard and mouse sharing, which is why I bought it.
