My Suburban always ate brake discs for breakfast. Just a fact of life. I got pretty tired of ripping the wheels off the truck so I could flip the OEM style rotors as they deformed in no time. I would try something different this time. I decided to give the EBC's slotted rotors a chance to withstand the heat stopping the metal beast that is my Suburban. I am using Hawk Performance ceramic pads on a truck following the prescribed break-in procedure and 6 months later they still run or stop just as well and smoothly as the day I installed them. Based on my experience with lower quality/performance rotors, not having to deal with constant rotor repairs is well worth the extra money. Here's a tip to keep the rotors in top condition: Fasten the clamps in a star shape so that you never tighten two clamps next to each other. You always want to go to the opposite side of the wheel from the eyelet you just tightened. Also make sure you tighten the grommets to the specified torque and that they are all the same. Unevenly tightened lugs put uneven pressure on the rotors, causing them to deform more quickly.
