Definitely avoid tasting it if you can, but that might be difficult when trying to apply on the inner part of the lips. It wasn't unbearable by any means, and it didn't take away much from the experience, though. I went with pretty sheer coverage, so I didn't experience too much of that taste or any "stickiness" that might appear when opening and closing my lips if I had applied a lot. Initial application felt cool to the touch. Naturally, there is a little bit of transfer.
