I need a table lamp for two purposes. First, I need warm light from the back of the monitor to relieve eye strain at night. Second, I need a table lamp for reading and writing. Because this lamp has a gooseneck, I can easily bend it to meet both needs. The light of the lamp has 3 temperature modes, which is important because. Only warm light should be used at night so as not to disturb sleep. As you can see from my wattmeter drawing, the lamp used 11.3 watts at full power. With a 2A power supply it was very close to the advertised 12W. When I tested the lamp with the 1A power supply it was still working but was only consuming about 7.6W. That's one level of brightness 7. In practice, this shouldn't be a problem, since you don't want to run the lamp constantly at level 10 anyway, since LEDs wear out faster at high temperatures. I intend to run my lamp at around 5 most of the time, so even a 1A power supply will do. The build quality of this lamp is very good. By the way, no power adapter is included with the lamp, but you can get a 2A adapter from Revain for about $4.
