I bought some of these to hang fish fossils on the wall. We unearthed over 50 of them at a dig site in southwest Wyoming and use a variety of methods to display them. The fossils, together with the surrounding rock, are about the size of a small slab and vary in thickness from a quarter of an inch to three-quarters of an inch, with the exception of a few larger ones. We use them to hang a few of these that fit nicely on the wall like plates. Time will tell if they work well in the long run, but for now they're working well. I probably would have preferred a different color and maybe ended up trying black on the hangers. But if they can hang a fish fossil on the wall, they should have no problem hanging a plate. I'm not sure how well the springs will hold up over the long term and I'll have to test that they don't loosen over time, but other than that they're working well so far.
