I thought the price was a little high but was swayed by the reviews and the article I read about it in Esquire so I took a chance and was so glad I did that i did it I've had chronic back pain and repeated injuries over the years. Not much seemed to help - MRIs, spine work, physical therapy, chiropractors, meds, rest, heat, ice, etc. After my recent injury, I thought maybe I just had horribly knotted/swollen muscles that I needed to calm down. So I started banging my lower back with this thing and after a few days all the muscles finally started to flatten out and relax and my pain went away. It's like tensing your muscles to obey. It was wonderful. Almost addicting. I would say be careful with this and start slow - don't put on the hardest attachment and squeeze as hard as you can etc. Start with the slowest setting and softest head and be very gentle on yourself, until you feel it.
