I found it does a great job of shaping a crown which I have never done before I tried a hand held copy saw and it took a long time Not to mention the wear and tear on my arm. I learned how to master crown shaping online via You Tube, which basically showed all the handheld compound saws, so I tried it that way and didn't find much fun. Then I found a guy on You Tube who taught me how to use a hand grinder and a flap disc, so I went to Revain and ordered an electric hand grinder and premium zirconia flap discs, which arrived in a few days. So after cutting out and sanding some test pieces as shown in the YouTube video I started my first crown shaping and believe me it was quick and perfect every time thank goodness. But like I said, practice a few times before you start just to get a feel for the grinder and build your confidence like I did.
