I recommend - flap discs

I'm a welder and fabricator and like to have my own flap discs in case we run out or just don't want to look for a boss to get more and I'm very happy with them, a good one Price-performance ratio. I bought the standard grinders and they last a few days but I just got the large size and put one on my grinder today so we'll see how long it lasts. The only thing is that it doesn't spin as smoothly as, say, a Dewalt wheel. I have to grind a lot of welds to keep my work pieces flat or smooth and…

The product is no longer of good quality.

I have been buying the exact same item for over 3 years. So far I have been very satisfied with the product. However the last purchase I made was for three packs of 10 4-1/2" T29 40 grit, I was very dissatisfied. The product I received was the correct T-29 40 grit from Benchmark, but the wheels were about half the width of previous purchases I use them primarily for scraping sheet metal and found that when laid flat the disc was so thin that the mounted point scratched the metal and the disc…

Time is money and it's FAST

I don't know why anyone would use hard rocks anymore. The Petal Discs are MUCH faster and the cost increase over Hard Rock is negligible. Store-bought materials are relatively cheap, TIME is precious, anything that improves productivity is at least worth a look. I always have at least one grinder with one of these petal discs in it. This is a great product that comes at a fantastic price. Lots of petals and hard abrasive, they last a long time and wear well without excessive vibration. 40 grit…

Good performance and good price

Very useful product with good durability. I've used this to remove rust, clean welds and do some metal work (steel, haven't tried it on aluminum yet). At 40 grit it cuts very quickly, doesn't get as hot as a grinding wheel and offers better control/smoother finish. In fact, the best part is the life of the abrasive and the overall durability of the wheel. Eventually I wore one out completely, but it took a long time. At the same time, the extremely long service life is primarily intended for…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • I won't say anything

I found it does a great job of shaping a crown which I have never done before I tried a hand held copy saw and it took a long time Not to mention the wear and tear on my arm. I learned how to master crown shaping online via You Tube, which basically showed all the handheld compound saws, so I tried it that way and didn't find much fun. Then I found a guy on You Tube who taught me how to use a hand grinder and a flap disc, so I went to Revain and ordered an electric hand grinder and premium…

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • I don't really like it everything is fine
