The sad truth about flickering bulbs is that they are not very bright. They are also more orange-red than real flames. I wanted my electric candle holders to look like a romantic "candlelight dinner". Conventional lightbulbs that don't flicker seem to give only a dim light, so I decided to try flickering lightbulbs. After trying many different brands, I gave up on a flickering lightbulb. It's more of a Halloween trick. If you don't use 10 or more lights at the same time, it can't illuminate enough space for you to eat and see your food. I returned to the non-flickering lights. They may be boring, but at least I can see my green beans! ;) Note: I gave 4 stars because I think it's a good VERSION of this product, but the product itself (flickering in general) leaves a lot to be desired.
