Review on Fluke 101 Multimeter Equipment Industrial by Charles Osguthorpe

Revainrating 3 out of 5

You can scold the tool once upon purchase or every time you use it. Guilty.

There are many highly qualified Fluke owners out there. I have an Electrical Engineering degree and have been in the automotive OEM industry for over 30 years and have taken many measurements over the decades. I can't believe Fluke is selling this product. I've only had two Flukes since the early 90's. Both still work! And neither of them have this hunting problem. Then why did I buy a new meter? I'm starting to ask myself the same question. The killer for me is the slow ohm response time. Even slower than the regular $30 units you can find at Revain. Three (3) seconds + searching for an ohms reading and you never know when he's going to give you his definitive answer, so you'll have to wait a few more seconds for him to stop changing his mind. This is inappropriate. The lead bushings come out from the bottom so you can't stand it. You can place the meter on a flat surface and it works fine, but it's not the best viewing angle. The wires proved to be much stiffer than I expected, making it difficult to repair given the meter's light weight. location when you move the sensors. You can scold a tool as soon as you buy it or every time you use it. "Bought once" means you scold it once and only once because of the price, "every time you use it" means you scold it because it reminds you every time how cheap you are and what you own would buy. a poorly performing tool to save a few bucks.
