Review on ๐Ÿงญ Reliable Eyeskey Military Army Sighting Compass - Ideal for Hiking and Camping Adventures by Jerry Estrada

Impressive, simple, minimalist, durable. A little heavy.

The Scout Leader and Compass Hound are here and I like this model. It's heavier than most as it's made from a single block of aluminum, but that also makes it durable. The viewfinder adapts to tired old eyes like mine and seems fairly accurate. As this is a pointer compass, the bearings are marked on the compass wheel, which turns VERY smoothly when in the horizontal position. The map's distance measurements are engraved on the sides so they stay there for a while. The housing of the compass wheel itself is made of plastic and hidden in an aluminum housing. It seems there are no bubbles in the liquid and it is clear as a bell. Be careful to avoid scratches. Nice bum bag and wrist strap if you like them. It really can become a family heirloom, it's so well made. It's simple, so there are no bells and whistles like declination adjustment, map magnifier or inclinometer (which I never use anyway). Because the markers are on a rotating disk, the youngest, beginner, or less dexterous may find this inconvenient. I'd say better for intermediates and up, so it might not be your kid's first compass. Learn the basic models and then upgrade to that type (target compass) as needed. Recommended.
