Stylish Taillight Look

I just bought a used IOM Camaro and never paid much attention to the number of others on the road so I decided to make a few modifications that would make mine stand out. One of the mods was to dim my taillights and that looked like a good option. Obviously I was concerned about the visibility of my turn signals/brake lights and this reduced their brightness by about 30%; I think the next step will be LEDs because I really like how they look now. I would really hesitate to put them on my headlights just because I like to see where I'm going at night and my old eyes need all the help they can get. In terms of application, on the first try I cleaned the headlights with Dawn and wiped them down with isopropyl alcohol. I trimmed my pieces to an inch or two on each side so I could stretch the film as needed, spray on a mixture of Dawn and water, and tint the lens. I did this with window tint and it helped, but not so much in this case. The problem was that the tail light was bent so I extruded one section but it moved when I switched to another section. I tried drying with a heat gun and as a result I stretched the vinyl so I took it off, cleaned it again, checked Utube and after a few beers I was ready again. This time I tried without the soapy water and worked from the center using only quick strokes with the heat gun and my fingers instead of a squeegee and did three of these in the time it took me to do the first one. The advantage with your fingers is that you can feel how warm the foil is. shouldn't be hot. You also have better control over styling. This is a thin material, but if it were thicker it would be more difficult to work with. Try not to rush and you will be fine.
