I saw my cat experience this for the first time and it was quite funny. I attached one to the back of the couch to distract my cat from her favorite spot to sharpen her claws. Every morning she jumps in the same spot, and this time she jumped up, looking confused, and immediately jumped up again, shaking each of her four legs in turn as if they were wet. The strip has been sticky for about a week since I applied it, but is slowly coming off as it picks up dust and pet hair. It is applied like a large strip of double-sided tape and is almost invisible. Be aware that if you put it on the back of your own sofa, you may also suffer from sticky glue, at least if you or your child have long hair. Overall, this resulted in the desired change in behavior for my cat.
