About 4 years ago I use metadata all the time. They were great but now I understand what happened to them. I bought a 100 watt lamp to grow one of my Barbat's Oriental Bearded Dragons. A young female, she is in a 75 gallon tank. I placed the bulb 15 inches from its body to the bulb. 12" minimum distance for 100 watts, she was 15" away from that as measured by me with a ruler, for some reason she was scared to death of that bulb, she was under that for a few minutes and then she looked like she was trying to get away because she took the body out of the bathing area and positioned herself so that she wasn't directly underneath as if the UV output was too high. The point was only 100 degrees at 15 inches which I measured with a heat gun so I know it's not warm I don't know. I currently have a solar meter and it's broken but I suspect it puts out many microwatts of UV or UVI so I can't say without a meter I've been using Megarey all the time and they've been the best. So I've been using enlarged solar panels and pet mercury lamps with no problems so I've upped the wattage by increasing it and she heats up and eats great and is fine. I honestly think that many microwaves are not suitable for our reptiles that Uvi is important. Bearded dragons need UVI from 3.0 to 4.0, they can go above UVI but great with 3 to 4. Arcadia cannon lights are the best i use them on the t5 arcadia 12% uvb desert is very expensive because you have to have a t5 light with the right watts like a lightbulb to run it but it's worth it. I'm ordering some from lightyourreptiles.com which is a great site. Well what else can I say. I'm not sure what's wrong with the mega beam, but you can test it with a solar meter before using it. Otherwise I use reinforced power lines or mercury fumes for evergreen pets. If you're going to go right or just bite the bullet and buy an Arcadia T5 with a mount, I'm not saying Megarays are bad. I could have a bad lightbulb Solar meter
