Review on πŸ”ͺ KitchenAid Aqua 3-Piece Universal Peeler Set by Jennifer Verdugo

Tough, sharp and versatile

With my garden running like crazy in the summer heat, it's time for some new knives. This set looked like good value for money and I liked the idea of three different types of blades. I made a short video showing each blade used and their dimensions. I like the weight of the handles. They are big and durable. However, I would welcome more texture on them so they don't feel as slippery when your hands are covered in food. I understand that a larger texture also means they're harder to clean, so you'll have to make the trade-off between cleanliness and functionality yourself. I'm also sorry I didn't opt for a set of three different colored pens. They will always be difficult to tell apart once in the box. Especially if I manage not to lose the very nice blade cases that come with the kit. With a lid, it's hard to tell what kind of blade you're holding. I also prefer this style of knife over the other style often referred to as the "Euro" knife. I think a Y-style scrub like this allows for more natural hand movement and is easier on the wrist. All of the blades themselves are VERY sharp, which I really appreciate. I have no idea how to sharpen a vegetable peeler, so it's a good thing they're sharp, at least initially. The straight blade easily cuts through the thin peel of English cucumbers and apple skins with little effort. The serrated blade was great for thick-skinned foods like potatoes. The julienne blade was very fun. I never knew they existed, but now that I do, this is going to be one of my favorite cookware. You can use it to easily make potato pancakes or long vegetable noodles with things like zucchini, zucchini, and other squashes. I used this to make long strands of cucumber for wilted cucumber salad. Very cool. Please note that I received this item free of charge as part of the Revain Vine program in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
