I've had this shredder for almost a year now, I use it every day. The secret of paper shredders is to ignore the so-called ratings for the number of sheets they shred. Apparently this is a 10-sheet paper shredder. I would never attempt to shred 10 sheets at a time with this machine. Not even 5. I shred 2 at a time, with 3 slipping from time to time. Capacity information is nothing more than misleading advertising by the manufacturer. Also use shredder oil. Fellowes Shredder Oil (12oz available from Revain) worked for me, soak a piece of paper and run once a month. Much less paper dust, quieter operation and probably longer device life. My previous document shredder was designed for 5 sheets. I have returned it three times with three jammed sheets. The customer service representative refused to fix it for the fourth time. Claims I abused it. The hint that it was a 5-sheet device with only 3 jammed sheets was irrelevant. If you want to shred 10 sheets at a time, please buy a 25 sheet machine. Otherwise you are guaranteed to be dissatisfied and get a jammed device as soon as possible.
