The pistons were supplied in their plastic bushings and arrived in good condition. The metal detach tabs face the opposite direction of the originals, but that doesn't matter unless you want your car to look exactly like most people, myself included, don't. They are very strong, individually capable of holding the glass hatch on their own and together they are so strong that if the hatch hooks are worn or loose you may have trouble keeping the hatch closed. I ended up having to disassemble and adjust my sunroof hooks so they could overcome the force of the pistons.
