Review on Effortless Dust-Free Vacuum Sanding with ๐Ÿ”ฒ Hyde Tools 09165 6-Foot Drywall Hand Hose Sander by Sabryna Wickings

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worked very well for me, I would buy again

First off, let me say that I *hate* puttying and plastering, I don't do it often enough so I'm not very good at it. This usually means I end up applying too many coats to even out the finish and then have to sand too much. Real drywall rarely gets dirty, and sometimes you never need to sand! Renovating a very small 8 x 8 pantry at my campsite I needed to replace the entire drywall but luckily not the ceiling so I decided not to take it. who takes the pole. I decided to try this thing, I really didn't want the dust to be everywhere. It actually worked much better than I expected. It really picked up pretty much all the dust, I couldn't find it on the floor when I was done. A few tips: * Make sure you have the special yellow "High Efficiency" dust bags for your vacuum cleaner, they are made by Shop Vac. If you only rely on a conventional cartridge filter you will ruin your vacuum cleaner, the swarf is very fine, it actually goes through the filter and destroys the bearings in the motor. Also, cleaning the canister at the end of the job is a lot easier.* Make sure to only use mesh sandpaper and the good news is that when used with this device it never clogs, it stays perfect. clean and lasts a very long time.* Constant vacuum on the pad tends to "stick" the pad to the wall, so you have to be careful not to sand too hard if you get what I mean. You really need very little to no pressure, just slide the pad over the mud and let the vacuum do the work. Keep an eye on things, I like to put a bright work light on the floor to illuminate the surface so I can see me removing the dirt.* Wear a dust mask!

Pros
  • All good!
Cons
  • Big and Bulky
