Not for this purpose. This RGB floor lamp is designed to create an atmosphere in a dark room. So it's just not powerful enough to be an alternative to a regular floor lamp, if that's what you believe. have a big TV. This prevents eye strain from a very bright light source coming from your TV. I also like the fact that you can physically set it up. It comes with four poles and a weighted base. You can use all four bars or just one. I placed mine horizontally behind the TV and turned it into a very expensive bias light. The construction is solid and the base is quite heavy. Assembly is very simple, you just attach each bar to the other and you're done. Some other lights require the use of LED strips with double-sided tape on the back. You will not do any of that for this app. The app worked well, although you have to turn on precise location to make it easy to find, otherwise you might have trouble connecting it to your phone. All in all, I wish it was an alternative to my floor lamp, but it just isn't powerful enough for that. For ambient lighting and customizability; You can't beat this. Although a bit pricey.4/5
