Great product but be aware of the depth of the scratches before buying. I was trying to remove scratches from one of my windows on the back of an RV. Please note that every glass in the car is tempered. This means that the glass is extremely hard and not at all like the windows in a house. So yes, if you watch YouTube and see how EASY it is to polish scratches on glass, they will always show you how to do it on regular glass windows (like your house). My friend (who works for a local auto glass company) told me not to even try to buff the scratches since it's hardened. It's best to replace the glass! Well my camper shell has been out of production for over 10 years since the company went out of business. So glass replacement is not possible (that's glass on the side, not the back). My only options would be to use untempered glass or replace it with plexiglass/lexan or try polishing it. I chose the last option. I originally tried Makita's water spot remover buffer with no success. I then tried a DA sander (a dual action sander used in auto body repair) with different grit sandpaper, both dry and wet (230 to 400 grit), to no avail. The scratches were very deep! Now I wasted 12 hours of my time trying to remove the scratches and only made things worse. There I ordered this glass polishing set. A water bottle and a dust mask make you want more. I immediately threw the dust mask away after half an hour of use. Be sure to use a respirator/dust mask as the fine dust from glass polishing can be dangerous with prolonged exposure. I chose 3 inch rims. This kit would be better if it included rough washers (also available from this manufacturer). I first tried polishing the glass with a Milwauke M18 cordless drill. But as the instructions make clear, they recommend a corded drill. I would also recommend the corded drill, not only for the higher torque and "unlimited" power resource, but most importantly, the corded models have a trigger lock. That! You must be very careful when the pad is dry because the pad may scratch the glass surface more than expected. I would recommend keeping the jar wet at all times, even when you first start. suitable for pneumatic grinders, but the instructions specifically state that this kit is for use with a power drill. The scratched area on the glass was approximately 3 inches by 5 inches (rectangular area). I went through 3 discs for each grit and spent about 4 hours with this kit removing most of the scratches (but not all). Maybe I could be successful if I had a bumpy ride? It would have taken longer if I had to polish the glass while the window was still in my RV. I was lucky that this piece of glass was removable and very flat. I just made sure the piece of glass lay flat on my desk, using a towel as a cushion and a clamp to keep the glass from moving.
