Review on EVGA X299 Intel Motherboard 151 SX E299 KR by Anthony Heinrichs

I haven't installed my motherboard yet (still waiting for the i7-9800X to be back in stock here at Amazon!) but happen to have it at EVGA found forum that some motherboards (in my case - X299 Dark) can come with a dead CMOS battery. I removed the battery from the motherboard and tested it in the lab (with a multimeter) and yes. The battery is empty. Instead of 3.XX volts, it shows 0.02 volts. The CMOS battery is not only important for the internal system time, but also for storing all your settings in the BIOS. If the battery is low, your BIOS settings will be reset to default values after every shutdown. So before you build your beautiful, fancy, ultra-fast, one-of-a-kind PC - check the battery, otherwise you'll have to disassemble it as soon as you find it. Problem. It is not possible to remove the battery cover without removing the motherboard from the case. Screws to attach the cover to the back of the board. PS The battery is an ordinary CR2032, 3 volts.
