Double check everything but man it's a beauty!

Pros: - Fans everywhere - Plenty of PCI slots - Optional overclocking software in BIOS that actively measures your system's capabilities to maximize its performance. - Looks cool and seems to be durable. Cons: - If you're using SLI, only one card will fit in the fan slot unless you make additional modifications to your GPU. Requires an additional 6-pin PCIe power connector for additional fans. , on top of the two 8-pin CPU sockets *TIP* In the top corner is a small box with 5-pin white…

  • Delivery was very quick

Decided to try EVGA again

To give you a little overview of my review, my first EVGA motherboard was the 680i. It is followed by the 780i, 790i, x58 Classified, 4-Way Classified and SR-2 (last two still owned). They were all fantastic boards and I had a lot of fun with them. Then Intel released the x79 platform and I pre-ordered the x79 Classified. Unfortunately it was a nightmare. I've never had a worse experience with a motherboard. It was so bad I took the risk of switching to an ASUS board and have been with them…

Dead CMOS battery suitable for computers and accessories

I haven't installed my motherboard yet (still waiting for the i7-9800X to be back in stock here at Amazon!) but happen to have it at EVGA found forum that some motherboards (in my case - X299 Dark) can come with a dead CMOS battery. I removed the battery from the motherboard and tested it in the lab (with a multimeter) and yes. The battery is empty. Instead of 3.XX volts, it shows 0.02 volts. The CMOS battery is not only important for the internal system time, but also for storing all your…

Fine Build: Motherboards

EVGA gets it right. The board is solid, easy to install, and comes with a variety of overclocking features. I would give 5 stars but I had to completely remove the MB after the first build to replace the CMOS battery. They ship with a dead CMOS battery and EVGA is aware of this. Please replace it before proceeding with assembly. To do this, loosen 4 small screws under the MB. In 99.9999% of cases, you cannot do without deleting the entire MB.

Pros
  • Useful for more than it's intended purpose
Cons
  • Not the best

Shipped with the wrong bios chip

Probably a great board but it came with the wrong bios chip and couldn't even post an update. After a few hours of troubleshooting and an hour on the phone (January 11th) it turned out that I could get the chip by January 17th. I reckon the board will be working great at this point, but with a 1/17 deadline my system is currently useless and I'll have to get another board. For the record, I believe this only applies to i9 10XXX chips. TLDR - Do not buy if you work in a corporate environment or…

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Neutral

Got 12200+ on CPUZ test. First you have to manually go through the bios to set the speed of the built-in fans (m.2 slots and VRM fans, otherwise they howl), which you can just work with. Uses AsRock, Gigabyte, MSI, Asus on other builds. For the x299 series of chips, this is the best I've found. In our lab they run consistently at a clock multiplier of 45 (factory 30), they fluctuate between 28c and 58c when running a size 360 watercooled with triple Noctua fans. The VCM actually has a decent…

Easy to work with computers and accessories

This is my first EVGA phone and was the easiest to set up and install. The UEFI menus are clear and intuitive, showing that a lot of attention has been paid to usability, not just looks. Pros: Build Quality: This is the first phone I've ever used where the ATX power connectors just plug in. plugs and unplugs without wobbling or banging against the body when the plug is finally released. No bloat: You don't need any manufacturer-specific software to unlock all features or set up the right fan…
