See I'm all for value for money and products that offer a lot of value for money but they're not. If you're looking for a marine-grade radio housing that you'll use MORE than a few times a year, look elsewhere. The hinges on this item are plastic, one hinge broke during installation right out of the box and trust me when I say I've been gentle. When removing the radio to inspect the broken hinge, the other side broke. I'm genuinely glad this happened at home and not on the water. The case seams should be of good quality material, but this is the most important part to protect your radio. , the cover, is in dire need of a redesign by Pyle. Pyle, if you're using a third party, cut your connections now. I would recommend redesigning the lid to work with metal hinges and a stronger/sturdier bezel. In the state the device is in right now, I would be very afraid to use it in any way to protect my gear.
