tight, and the vise body rotates about the set screw under load. The problem is that a swivel collar screw will work in a sloppy cast hole, not a machined hole. . I've successfully fitted a brass pipe ring or eyelet around the shoulder of this bolt to take up most of the play and so lessen the problem - it's pretty good now. . The brass tubing I made this tip out of is 15/32" OD, 7/16" ID, and 3/8" long. Raw brass tubing can be purchased at craft stores. However, it should be noted that the center bolt is too, WAY too small in diameter for their application - I have asked the manufacturer of the adjustable clamp to correct the design - a larger flanged bolt and a bore for it... It will only cost you one few cents. Problem -- The grind on the anvil was a little rough, and you could cut your fingers around the edges -- I fixed that quickly with a milling file and carbide sandpaper. Now the anvil is pretty convenient to use. This vise is reminiscent of the little GREEN vise I dropped on my big toe 73 years ago - That nail still causes problems. The only downside besides the hinge problem: Made in China! in the USA? - A few dollars I think!.. Sorry!.
