I bought this Osito Tens because I used a similar device that belonged to a family member. This device was not as good as the one Sharper Image was selling. They are very close to the same price. This Osito machine really reduced the pain and would have been great if I had nothing else, I found it wasn't as well calibrated as the Sharper Image machine. I like to use it in environments where it rotates between different patterns. I have found that one pattern will be very strong and the next very weak. I didn't have this problem with the Sharper Image device. My son used the electrodes attached to this Osito machine for pain in his legs. The contractions were so strong from the first stage that he was in severe pain. Not all patterns are very strong. Some don't feel it at all. But they should all be about the same strength. I also found that when I used this Osito device on settings that seemed high enough to be useful, it burned my feet easily. The Sharper Image devices have allowed me to use them twice a day at a therapeutic level without burning my feet. I couldn't use the Osito device twice a day due to the burning sensation in my legs even on lower settings. Because of this, I was not able to get the same level of pain relief with the Osito device as I did with the Sharper Image device. The Osito device is quite easy to use. It's not as intuitive as I was hoping, but it's not bad. It's light and feels cheap. It certainly doesn't look like a $170 item. Also, the red parts on your leg rests are not infrared emitters. There's nothing special about them. They're only red to look like they have infrared heat. Other devices have infrared radiation in these ranges. The remote control that came with this Osito device also didn't work. I sent this unit back and got the better one from Sharper Image. I give this device 3 stars because it worked but didn't do very well compared to other devices, it felt cheap and flimsy and the remote control didn't work.
