I used three different sized hole punches to add holes on 6 ribbons. The holes were cut cleanly, on one strap they were cleaner than the original factory strap holes. Some belts need oval holes and for that I just punch a second time with a slight offset. Not that clean but good. I followed another reviewer's recommendation and placed the plank under the straps on the cement patio floor. It worked very well. I used to have two tools that looked like pliers with a gear attached to them. The first was cheap from Harbor Freight and quickly failed. The second was much better, but in my experience these kicks are the best way.
