Review on ⚙️ Noctua NF-A15 HS-PWM chromax.Black.swap: Premium Quiet Fan - 140mm, Black (4-Pin) by Corey Nyuon

Fantastic fan but BUY AN EXTENSION CABLE

Bought a batch of these fans to replace the beige CPU fan in the Noctua cooler and the stock fans in the Fractal Define 7 Three stock Fans were 140mm, 3 pin, max RPM 1000RPM. On the other hand, these Noctua are 140mm, 4 pin PWM, 1500RPM. That alone would be improvement enough, but adding one at the top of the case and one below that takes over the intake transformed the Define 7 from average thermals at best into a nice full featured HAF case with positive internal pressure Virtually silent, idling and peak power that doesn't look like it will take off. This allowed for a very reasonable stable OC of 38% on the i9 9900k. (Also thanks to the Asus Q-Fan controller and Fractal Design built-in fan hub, both are excellent) Now the most important part of my review, hear me out and if you don't do anything, take this: BUY THE EXTENSION CABLES FOR THESE FANS . Seriously, the cord is short. This is normal for use as a CPU fan or when the case fan bracket is directly over the MB fan connector. If it doesn't, you'll have to run a cable through the center of the case instead of routing it, or worse, you'll end up with an expensive fan that you can't use. Avoid heartbreak and disappointment for less than $10. Consider fan mounts and buy wisely. Two cables (and a Define fan hub) gave me a neat, simple build with five case fans.

Pros
  • Case fan
Cons
  • Actually I don't like it everything is fine
