Review on Finew Professional Whetstone Sharpener with Enhanced Sharpening Capability by Tony Suggs

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great starter set for power and hand tools

So I bought another stone which was about half the price of this set and was a 1000/6000 grit but I found this set much easier to use . Especially if you are new to sharpening stones, I recommend spending a little more money on a mixed grit set. I practice on old kitchen knives that no longer have sheaths and are dull. This kit comes with a guide which is helpful with most knives but you still need to loosen the tip as it is curved. The reason I prefer this set over a single 1000/6000 stone is because my knives are dull and using a lower grit like 400 or less if you can find it can help the apex knife run faster becomes. I spent some time defining the apex and then went over the blade about 20 times on each side and then 30 times at 8000 grit. I'm still very new to this, having only practiced for a few months, but you can see and feel the difference after taking the time to study each sand.
