The case is exactly as shown. Has a smooth texture. The front of the case is magnetic so you can lift the front to take a picture, or you can detach it from the back and remove the front cover entirely, with the camera itself still protected by the other half of the case. I haven't written about it yet, so I'm not sure if there is any real impact protection. But it looks great and was a great buy for the price.
