PURCHASED May 2019 I bought this unit based on the majority of the reviews and I am 100% satisfied, so far I have only had about 3 weeks. But since my 18 year old Kenmore, which worked perfectly, died I've had nothing but junk as today everything is $250 china junk, do yourself a favor and spend money you get what you get , what you pay for. This device rocks! It's very quiet and commercial quality, despite the super high price of $1,600-$2,500 plus $999, it's perfect. You'll go through 3 cheap ones that don't even draw moisture. This unit is located in a fully finished basement with no visible water but can operate at 55-60% humidity. This unit has a pump with a 25-30 foot hose that pumps very well without high pressure causing the hose to pop out of the sink where I dump it. I tested it in a 5 gallon bucket overnight, so it filled the bucket halfway in about 12 hours. It works in my basement at 46% humidity at 69 degrees. If the basement temperature drops to 65 degrees or below, the coils will freeze, but it will automatically go into defrost mode for a few minutes and defrost the coil. The digital display is amazing, it shows the temperature and humidity at the inlet and outlet of the unit, also when you scroll it reads the coil temp, actual compressor current at 3.6, total current with the squirrel cage fan is about 5 amps. efficiently with electricity. Reads the total running hours and can be reset, this is the total running time. When the set humidity value is reached, the entire device switches off. It retains its settings during a power outage. And it is also ready full hours of life. It reads Cereal PPM. And it has a total inlet and outlet temperature and humidity screen. It has a washable metal slider in the filter and the hose can be rolled up and it has velcro closure, a very nice power cord that lights up in an outlet. It has a button to power the internal drain pump that counts down 25 seconds if it drains the water manually when you press it, otherwise automatically when full. And the guarantee is better than many, at a much higher price. So that's a plus! My only minor downside is that it's heavy at around 70 pounds, but it has two very strong handles to lift it, I had no problem. Another minus: I have a Berber carpet in the basement and when I pushed the unit against the wall, the rubber feet left black stains on the carpet, but these washed off with soap and water. Nothing that would stop me from buying it. I will be buying another one for my 1200ft shop. You can also stack them and transport them by hand. The plastic housing is very high quality and durable. This is a professional device of the highest quality. Incidentally, my cellar also costs 1,200 francs. Does the description say it can be submerged in water? I'm not sure or why you would want the power cord that plugs into the device to have a little flap that pops out to plug in the female end, but it's certainly not waterproof so I wouldn't recommend a short circuit and why don't you have a drain pump? is it a dryer It has a small sump pump built in that will pump out the collected water, but won't pump out about a foot or more of water that's flooded in your basement. For that I would go with a sealed pump and if all your damaged water is out you can now safely use it to dehumidify the area. Highly recommended, I hope the review helps! READ PLEASE! TO UPDATE. May 2021 Unit fails after 15 months, error code E5, refrigerant leak! As have many others who have bought these devices. Alright, so here it is! I tried emailing the company twice with my problem, they responded and called after the second email. I called Cynthia and spoke to her very nicely but like many others she is over a year old and they don't issue a return label. I live on the east coast in Cali. They wanted me to pay $200 to ship a new unit but they still had a valid warranty! For real? Will I pay an additional $200 on top of what I've already spent to try again? After telling her that many people have this problem, she understood my frustration but still couldn't solve it. I had to send photos of the error code, they wanted to send me a new sensor. But I knew it wasn't a sensor because the device just worked and didn't get hot. They then demanded that I pay $400 to upgrade to a $1400 device made out of the same components. By the way, this is not an American device. It is made in China. When I asked to speak to the manager, they told me that everyone is in China and cannot speak to me due to the time difference? Really good, how about 3 a.m. our time? There the Revain page is wrong because an American company sells products made in America! Not true. After weeks of emails and phone calls, they offered to send another block. I gave up after everything I've been through, I wanted my money back in full. They eventually refunded the full amount but I expected them to mail it to me directly. They refunded the money to the credit card I used at Revain 2 years ago to an account I had closed and no longer had access to. But there is a credit so I can't get my money back and never use this company again so I'm screwed. I have a large 90lb yellow doorstop. And there is no money to buy another block. I had to eliminate the new block, at least I would have some reserve to work another year or so. So now I have to fix this unit myself, which I will do because I know how to fix cooling systems. But I shouldn't have done it. So please heed this warning! This company has no service capacity, they are an American front for a Chinese product and all they can do is issue parts, help you disassemble and try to fix minor problems. But if it's serious, like a leak or a compressor failure, you're screwed. And let me tell you that I've been researching them for many years. So if you see a bunch of these that look the same but are from different companies. Everything is the same there. All of these things are made in China by the hundreds of thousands and sold to every company in the US and stamped with their name. Other Colzlar companies are the same. You will only be replaced if you are lucky. I specifically chose this unit because it says the coils use rare earth metal with a special coating to prevent refrigerant leaks which is very common with these things because it's junk! We have refrigerators in our homes that last 10, 15, 20 years and never cause any problems. But you can't get those crappy dehumidifiers to last 2 years. And for those who don't know, it's a simple refrigeration system, just like your fridge at home. It only works at a different temperature. Or rather, like your home air conditioner, it removes moisture. In this case, instead of blowing warm air outside, the condenser blows warm air back into the room and heats it, or you can blow the air outside. Unfortunately this is the reality. Don't get me wrong, you can see my first review was great, I loved this $200 home appliance. It's kicked ass! But they can't take it. Oh, you know what a rare earth metal is? Aluminum! Rzhunimagu! It's rare ha! Epoxy coated to hold it up but it still leaks! If they just used good copper coils and welded them together it would last more than 25 years. But that's our life today, it's all crap to throw away! I bet they cost less than $150 to make in China, but here they sell them for a thousand or more! I now need to vacuum coat the aluminum coils with epoxy to fix them and then add 21 ounces of coolant. They have no service centers in the country. I told them why not go to the local refrigeration and air conditioning manufacturers for warranty service and they told me that most companies don't want to work with them. Hm, maybe I should take it upon myself, unless because they don't want to pay? It's cheaper to send you another piece of scrap since it costs nothing to make in China. If you decide to purchase any of these items from any of the companies that sell them on Revain I highly recommend purchasing Revain's 4 Year Extended Warranty, it's worth it! At least you either get a new device or your money back through Revain! Good luck everyone! Such a scam! It doesn't take much to make something valuable that lasts! They just don't want to! the quality is just out the window.!
