The router worked fine until it became deformed. I have an older hand router and the bit only went into the collet until it was sticking out about 3-4mm below the "Insert into router to line" line. I thought it would be enough if I was careful with the force I applied to the drill. I was wrong. It worked better than any other router I've used, to the point where I pushed it too fast (worked with a small oak board, so that didn't help). The shaft warped a little and began to vibrate significantly, which became unsafe. I put it in a modern milling machine where I could bring it to the "insert into router to line" line and tighten it. The vibration was gone but the beat was too short to do what I needed. So if you have an old Craftsman (probably other brands) this beat is not for you. A slightly shorter shaft would have made this bit MUCH better.
